Dr. Ellen Frigo - Veterinarian

Dr. Ellen Frigo grew up in Wisconsin.

She started college at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN thinking she would go to medical school and become an obstetrician. However, after she graduated with a degree in biology and health services, she took a detour into economics and earned an MBA in Health Administration at the University of Chicago.

That was followed by work at a pharmaceutical manufacturer and a health care consulting firm. The lure of clinical work was too strong though, and she attended veterinary school at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1997.

Ellen has practiced small animal medicine for 26 years, in places ranging from Houston to northern Virginia to the Twin Cities in Minnesota and now the Austin area. She works for Sunset Canyon 2- 3 days a week when she is in town.

In her free time she likes to cook, knit, garden, and be a mom to her two adult children and her Small Munsterlander dog.
